Language is the most important means of human communication, with the help of which people share their thoughts and achieve mutual understanding.
Communication of people with the help of language is performed two ways: orally and in writing.
If two communicating men know one language - communication is direct. If two communicating men know different languages - for example Russian and English - free communication is impossible. They need Russian to English translator. In this case succours translation, i. e. transmission of thoughts expressed in one language by means of the other language.
Thus, translation is an important auxiliary means, which provides performance by the language its communication functions in cases, when people express their thoughts in different languages.
Translation plays whopping role in share of thoughts between different folks and serves spreading the treasures of world culture. Famous Russian poet A. S. Pushkin called translators as the “post-horses [couriers] of civilization”.
Translation has always been and will always be a cutting-edge business in any field it serves - correspondence, economics, oil and gas, medicine, aviation, literature, chemistry and so forth. No matter what documents are to be translated - letters, contracts, technical characteristics of an aircraft - it is of great importance to translate it accurately, with high quality, as close as possible to the source text.
Speaking about technical translation it should be pointed out that the process of manufacturing of products, its operability, reliability and operational safety of personnel depend on correct and skilled translation. Great apportionment of liability falls on translator’s shoulders.
Ten most widespread languages (and thus languages from/into which is more often done the translation) are: Mandarin, Hindustani, Spanish, English, Portuguese, Arabic, Bengali, Russian, Japanese, German. Sometimes it is easy to find a skilled experienced translator, e.g. English into Russian translation or English into Ukrainian translation. But sometimes it is not easy to find a skilled translator, for example, from Russian into Hindko or from Chinese into Ukrainian languages. Besides a translator should be a specialist in the field or at least understand the text he/she translates. Otherwise “Single, feathering-reverse, forward-mounted, airscrew with 6 blades” may sound for a specialist very funny or nonsense when translated translation.
I would like to outline the tremendous importance of a translator in the business and in life of almost everyone.
